MY VERY OWN SOAP OPERA: Life in Lanton!

Hey everybody!!! I have been pondering this idea of creating my very own online Soap Opera for months now, and I have finaly decided to do it!!!

The new Soap will be called "Life in Lanton", it will be taking place in the little fictional town of Lanton that is in California, the rich Nico family practically rules the town with an iron fist, there main buisness competetor is the Robin family, which is the other rich family in Lanton.

The Robin family and Nico's are not the only people who get the action in Lanton though, other families such as the Rogets, Banets and Apsons lives are always interesting! However they are not rich like the Robin's and Nicos.

Here are the first three people to join the cast:


Brandi Burkhardt will be joining the cast of Life in Lanton as twenty year old Amy Nico, the daughter of Kim Nico and John Shaban, Amy is often melicious, canniving and sometimes spoiled, she has gone through boy freind after boy freind over her teen years, so if you see her get interested in one guy know that she will soon be interested in another!

Burkhardt is on contract.


Marj Dusay will be portraying the wife of rich Victor Nico, Vivian Nico, she is often very evil and schemish when it comes to buisness, so whoever gets in her way better watch out!

Dusay is on a long term contract.


Heather Lindell will be playing Courtney Nico, the one year younger sister of Amy Nico, Courtney is interested in Nick Roget, and she will do anything to get him, including kill!


Eric Braeden will be the villian of Lanton, Victor Nico! Victor will do ANYTHING to get what he wants, he is often criticized by the people of Lanton for his cruel ways to them, but no one has ever been able to prove any wrong doing from him, he is currently married to Vivian Nico, but the marriage is mostly lifeless.

Be sure to watch for updates as who will be joining the cast, after the cast is filled, Life in Lanton can begin!

Andrea Hall Gengler will be portraying one of Lanton's kindest women, Trista Judath. Trista is a kind sweeheart who lives right near Lanton Middle School and Lanton High School, she will talk to anyone who needs to talk, help whoever she can and does everything possible to make sure someone is alright.

Gengler is on contract.

Also expect Deidre Hall to pop up around Lanton too, she is portraying Medical doctor, Dea Judath, Dea is a doctor who sepcializes in just about anything, she works at Lanton Hospital.

Hall is on recurring.


Brandon Tyler will be coming to Life in Lanton as rich William Nico! Yet another one of the rich Nico's, William is a teen who often looks down on other non rich teens, he has a secret crush on Amanda Apson, but can't tell any other members of his family, or they will have a fit!

Tyler is on contract.


Heather Olson will be joining the cast of Life in Lanton as odd Rhonda Jean, Rhonda is a shy young eighteen year old girl who is the buisness assistant and right hand woman of Asa Robin, the head of the Robin Empire! Rhonda lives in a tiny apartment, hardly ever talks to anyone except Asa and none of her family lives in Lanton, so she is pretty much alone.

Olson is on recurring.


Arianne Zuker will be portraying Lanton's new fashion modeal, Jasmyn Walt. Jasmyn has just arrived in Lanton and is a model for fashion magazines, she often models in dresses or just plain outfits. She is a fun,nice, funny and sometimes stubborn woman who could take on anything! She is hoping to meet some of the locals around Lanton and get familiar with the town.

Zuker is on contract.


John Reily will be on Life in Lanton as the head of the Robin family, Asa Robin! Asa often is schemish and like Victor, does not abide by the law sometimes, especially in the buisness area, but is not quite as evil as Victor is. Asa, unlike victor, is very protective of his family and if anyone hurts one of them, know that that person is in deep trouble!

The next person to join the cast of Life in Lanton is Jacob Young. Young will portray Jacen Robin. Jacen is one os Lanton's meanest men, he goes to very extreme extents to get revenge on people mostly, if anyone has ever upset him. His attitude can change in an instant, he is mostly kind, but he is trying to take the Robin family buisness away from his grandfather Asa! He has a wife named Kelly, a two year old son named Bo, and a thirteen year old son named Matthew.

Young is on contract.


Gina Tognoni is one of Life in Lanton's head women, Kim Nico. Kim has had two daughters, Courtney and Amy, with John Shaban. It is unknown what happened to John Shaban, but he and Kim were never married, Kim was meeting eith him for dinner at his apartment one night, and after that he was never seen again. Kim is currently single and is the principal of Lanton High School.

Tognoni is on contract.


Portraying Nick Roget, will be John Paul Lavoisier. Nick Roget is currentl applying for a detective job after getting out of college, Nick is nice kind of guy, and a little bit protective when it comes to his family. He isn't too fond of the Nicos and he doesn't like what he hears about them, but little does he know Courtney Nico is in love with him!


Drake Hogestyn will be Lanton's very own Chris Apson. Chris is one of Lanton's finest men, he has a few children, and he had a wife at one time, but she is deceased. Now Chris works at a local car shop.

Hogestyn is on contract.


Jay Kenneth Johnson will be playing Ken Roget, brother of Nick Roget. Ken is in his last senior year of highschool, and even though he dislikes William Nico, he does not get what is so bad about the Nico family, unlike the rest of his family.


Jerry Ver Dorn in Lanton is one it's richest men, Cal Robin. Cal is the son of Asa Robin, and the father of Jacen Robin. He is currently married to Virginia Robin.

Great stuff!! LOL it looks like we have some of the same cast members in our soaps...great minds think alike ;D...also so happy to see that you're including both Heather Lindell and Heather Olson, even though Olson is just on recurring . I'm looking forward to reading your series!

James Scott will be portraying rich, hunky and half good half bad guy, James Robin! James is very easy to be freinds with.... once you get on his bad side you know your in trouble! He is tricky at times, other times he is not. You will just have to stay tuned to find out

Jason Cook will be playing Colin Apson. Colin is a neutral character, at times he is the bad teen, at other times he is not. His father is Chris Apson.

Cook is on contract.


Robin Strasser will be playing Virginia Robin. Virginia is the wife of Cal Robin and the mother of Jacen Robin and Julie Robin. She is orderly, at times schemish and you really never know what she will do next!

Strasser is on contract.


Austin Peck will be Lanton's Mike Nico! Mike is the eldest brother of his other siblings, one of which is William Nico and Mike is mysterious... he is single but seems to have the hots for Heather banet.

Peck is on contract.


Kassie Depavia will be portraying Heather Banet. Heather is a simple, mostly kind woman. She lives a regular life and is married, no children yet and is a modern citizen of Lanton.

Depavia is on contract.


Steve Burton will be portraying Jeff Banet! Jeff is the husband of Heather Banet, and is a modern citizen of Lanton. He goes by the rules and nothing but the rules.

Burton is on conract. But that could change any minute.


Darin Brooks is another one of Lanton's teens, Drake Apson! Drake attends Lanton High and is freinds with Ken Roget. He is a good guy, and hardly does anything wrong.

Brooks is on contract.

Rachel Melvin will be yet another teen, Britta Robin. Britta is the grandaughter of Asa Robin, and the niece of Cal and Virginia Robin. Her parents (who are also Robins) live in London together, her mother sent her back to Lanton and tld her sister in law Virginia to take care of her. Britta was sent to Lanton because she is one of the bad teens, and she will arrive on the first episode.

Melvin is on contract.


Kyle Brandt will be portraying the brother of William and Mike Nico, Jay Nico. Jay is a casual kind of guy, and another neutral character. He has no love intrest.... yet.

Brandt is on recurring, but that could change.


Kam Heskin will be playing another one of the rich Nico's, Susan Nico! Susan is a nice, kind, shy, gentle and very sensitive Nico. She gets scared easily and seems to have endured alot of emotional trauma in her life. She usually stays cooped up in the Nico Mansion, but sometimes gets out. Expect Susan to be a central character.

Heskin is on contract.


The last of the Nico's(for now) has been cast! Peter bergman will be our very own Joshua Nico! Joshua is another buisness tyrant and is not quite as evil as his father, but does have an edgy side to him. He is the father of three boys, William, Jay, and Mike. He had a wife at one time... but it is unknown where she is or what happened to her.


Lauren Ambrose will be portraying Abby Robin, a teen. Her exact relation to them is unkown, but it is presumed one of Asa's children is her mother or father. She is a kind girl, and is helping her aunt Virginia with her troublsome cousin Britta!


Bree Williamson has been cast as Erin Roget! She is the sister of Nick and Ken Roget. she is kin but like alot of citizens in Lanton, has an edge at times. She is an adult, and is not married. She currently lives somewhere in an apartment in Lanton.


Sharon Wyatt will be portraying Lanton's caring and sometimes fisty mother, Kate Roget. Kate might not be seen very much in Lanton, but she is the caring mother of Erin, Nick and Ken Roget. Their father is unknown, and if she was married to him is unknown.

Wyatt is on recurring.

Now, that is it! The characters have been cast, so soon Life in Lanton will begin!


Kirsten Storms will be portraying one of the Apsons, Amanda Apson! Amanda is another teen who attends Lanton High. She is a very nice girl who is freinds with alot of people.

But, I have been making some changes, and Life in Lanton will be adding some more cast members, alot of the Robin family because we want that to be the main strong family!

Life in Lanton- Episode#1

It was a bright and shining morning in the small town of Lanton, kids were heading to school, adults were heading to work, and others were just relaxing.

Trista Judath sat in her kitchen, drinking a cup of tea, as her sister Dea readied herself for work, Trista said “Isn’t it great living here Dea? Watching those kids every day walk to school, be freinding them and helping people, I love it.”

“Yes, so true. But there is the Nico’s….” Dea said

“Well yes, there are always the Nico’s, and I feel so sorry for all of those innocent people who have to deal with them every day.” Trista said with a sigh

Susan Nico silently got out of bed in the Nico Mansion, she opened the curtains just a little bit so some light would peak into the room, then she silently went down to the kitchen for a cup of coffee.

“Good morning Susan, nice day isn’t it?” Vivian Nico said, walking up to Susan with one of her business uniforms on

“I suppose. I also suppose you saying that means you have some kind of victory in business going on today.” Susan said to her mother as she walked into the kitchen

“Ah, yes Susan darling. Nico Corp has successfully bought out another one of our competitors. And today I am finalizing the take over.” Vivian said, getting some water and looked up proudly

“Well, hope you have a good time.” Susan said as she got her coffee and walked to the door silently, she had never bene one to talk much, so she often had very small conversations with any members of her family

“Oh I will darling. Any plans for today?” Vivian asked

“Not really.”

“Oh really Susan you should get out more. It will do nothing for you to just be cooped up inside this mansion all day.” Vivian told her daughter “Well off now, goodbye Susan.” she said and walked out the door

I can’t go out there, I just can’t. Susan thought

Courtney Nico lie on her bed asleep, she was having a dream, a dream about the love of her life, Nick.

Courtney was standing behind the bushes, watching Nick come out of his house and get in his car, but before he could she jumped out.

“Oh my love, I have come for you. It is I, Courtney Nico, your soul mate, you do not know me but you soon will very well, I love you like the sun loves the light. I have watched you over and over again, and now I have finally decided to reveal myself to you.” Courtney said in a love tone

“Oh Courtney, seeing you has made me realize that you are the one for me. I too, have loved you all along.” Nick said in a passionate voice

“Kiss me my love!” Courtney yelled and ran into Nick’s arms with a kiss

“Wake up!” a voice yelled and Courtney shot up, to see her mother Kim sitting on the edge of her bed, staring at Courtney, the curtains had been open so the light was right in Courtney’s eyes

“What do you want? I am an adult, and do not need you waking me up every morning, I was having the best dream of my life today and you ruined it!” Courtney said to her mother, frustrated as she shielded her eyes and got out of bed and prepared to change out of her night gown and into her clothes

“Oh please! Courtney, dreams are just things you want or do not want to happen! I don’t care about your stupid dreams, and I know that this one was about your secret crush.” Kim said, standing up

“For the last time Mom, I do not have a secret crush!” Courtney said, turning around with anger in her eye, getting irritated by her mother in general

“Then why were you saying in your sleep “Oh Nick, kiss me! Nick I love you!”? If your grandfather found out about this he would have a fit, and you know that. You are lucky I have not found out who this Nick is yet.” Kim told her daughter

Oh and you won’t Mother, I will make sure of that. Courtney thought and said “Well yes, now just please, get out.”

“Fine.” Kim said with a shrug and walked out

After Kim left Courtney grabbed a leather suit with sliver buttons down it and said “Get ready Nick, here I come.”

Victor Nico sat in the study of the Nico Mansion, Joshua Nico, Victor’s son walked in.

“Where have you been?” Victor asked angrily, turning his chair from the window so he could see Joshua

“I had something else to take care of, now what did you want to see me for? I have got to get down to Nico Corp, you seem to want your business to sink father because you are delaying me.” Joshua said simply and stared at Victor

“I want to see you about business. Vivian has already left to go have a takeover, I have no idea where Kim is, so you were my only option left.” Victor said “Today is the day I take down the Robins, for good, and you are going to help.”

Asa Robin walked into his office at the Robin Business building, his assistant Rhonda Jean was scrambling around the office like always, filing papers, but this morning she seemed a bit more nervous than usual.

“Rhonda, what is the matter?” Asa asked

Rhonda shot up from the file cabinet, startled. “Oh sir! I didn’t know you were here! I have… erm… news for you.” Rhonda told her boss

“And what would that be?” Asa asked as he walked over to his desk and sat down

“Well, that company we were trying to get, Sash & Company, was taken over this morning by Nico Corp.” Rhonda said with a gulp

“WHAT!?” Asa yelled

At the Robin Mansion, Virginia anxiously walked down the stairs with her niece, Abby.

“Is everything ready?” Virginia asked

“Yeah, but Aunt Virginia, you can calm down about this you know.” Abby said, putting a hand on her Aunt’s shoulder, Virginia was extremely nervous about Abby’s cousin, Britta arriving from London today, she had been sent back to Lanton because her parents felt she was irresponsible and hoped Virginia could help her become an orderly teen

“Well, I am just trying to make sure everything is in tip top shape for when Britta arrives, we have to make her feel right at home!” Virginia said in a loud voice

Abby laughed at her Aunt’s orderlyness and turned to the door as a butler opened the door, holding several suitcases in his hand and behind him was the troublesome teen herself, Britta.

At Lanton High, all of the teens walked into the bulding as the doors were finally opened,

William Nico walked through the halls proudly, like he always did, he was the “top dog” as some people called it, of Lanton High. He looked down on others, mostly the people who had less money then he did (which is just about everyone).

However, there was one exception- Amanda Apson.

William had a crush on Amanda since third grade, and always dreamed of asking her out, he was sure this year would be the year he would.

Meanwhile, Ken Roget and Drake Apson walked up to each other.

“Hey.” Ken said

“Hey.” Drake said back “Your brother get that job?”

“No… he is still trying. Hope he gets it. My sister moved out of the house last weekend…so hopefully Mom will let me move in there so I don’t have to share a room with Nick anymore.” Ken said with a slight smile

“Yeah, that must be annoying.” Drake said with a laugh “Say you seen Abby Robin anywhere?”

“No…. why do you ask?”

“Just wondering….” Drake said, but really he was developing a crush on her

Nick Roget stood in the police station of Lanton, he had just turned in his detective application and was waiting for results.

Suddenly an officer came out, he tossed the application in Nick’s face. “Sorry, but your not getting the job.” he said

“Look, I need the money!” Nick yelled

“Then go somewhere els,e you have been turned down, that’s it, no more.” the officer said

Nick groaned and angrily stormed out of the police station, he sat down on a bench outside and said to himself “What am I going to do now?”

James Robin stood in his bedroom at the Robin Mansion, he was putting a suit on, he had several important things to do today, and the first involved heading to a business meeting.

“Well, nothing like a good day of business rivalry.” the Brit said as he put on his tie “I get quite tired of playing this back and forth game with the Nico’s, but it will all be worth it when Father retires. He will hand the family business to me and I will do it my way.”

“Oh, I don’t think that will happen anytime soon.” Jacen Robin, James’ nephew said, walking in

Susan walked through the main room of the Nico Mansion, the maid stopped when she saw her. “Miss Susan, it is a lovely day. Why don’t you go out and enjoy it?” she asked with a smile

“Oh, Sugar, I can’t. I really just-” Susan said but Sugar interrupted

“Miss Susan, you always stay inside and look as bored as ever. Lanton might be small, but it is an exciting town.” Sugar said as she dusted the mantle

“I cannot go out there!” Susan said and ran off, Sugar sighed and ran after her

Trista walked around the house, cleaning. Dea had gone to work and all was quiet in the house.

She picked up the newspaper and sat down in a chair in the kitchen. As she was reading, she read something about a new aspiring model coming to town.

“Oh, I must tell Chris! This would be perfect for him!” she said and got up

Courtney climbed out the window of the Nico Mansion, with a black leather suit and a helmet on, as a disguise. “It’s time Nick meets me….” she said

“And how do you think that will happen? Joshua asked with a groan

“You will see.” Victor replied, leaning back in is chair

Susan ran into her room, with tears pouring down her face! She just couldn’t go out into the world! “I’m an adult….this shouldn’t be happening….” she said as tears continued to flow

Sugar walked up to the door “Miss Susan, please come out! Miss Susan, I must speak with you” she yelled, but with a non-angry tone and one that sounded sweet yet persistant

However, Sugar slowly took out a knife from inside her maid outfit……

NEXT ON LIFE IN LANTON:

“This model sounds like the perfect match for you!” Trista told Chris Apson as he lied under a car, working

“You are too much of a hot-head to be the CEO of the family business!” James scoffed to Jacen

“Miss Susan, are you in here?” Sugar asked as she opened the door into Susan’s room, with the knife clutched in her hands…

(There we go! First episode posted! Not all the cast is involved, but soon they will air in coming episodes!)

Congratulations Daysfan I believe it takes a special talent to concoct a presentable story and then to have the ability to write the script so 'Life in Lanton' is to be applauded.Your cast leaves a little to be desired but don't take this as negative reaction as it is purely personal likes and viceversa. As long as the' Heather' s are in there you've won me for one. Keep up the good work. I seem to remember Jannsboy stating on an occasion, words to the extent that the scriptwriters of 'DAYS' could use a few fresh ideas and that was all truth. Again, congrats and I hope some good comes your way for your efforts. Aussie.

Of course, I could never write LIF as good as Jannsboy writes "Moments of Existence"....

LOL awww, thanks Daysfan. Don't forget, you've taken on the challenge of writing TWO series. That can be a difficult task (just like at how JER wrote when he was in charge of DAYS and PSSNS...well, nvm, I can't complain I liked that). But you've done a great job with both of your shows. Great job with casting the Heathers AND Kate Collins!

Hey Dadsfan keep on smiling ,to me you done just great but I'm poss not the best to give opinions tho come to think of it ,it's mutts like me that watch and get our 'highs' for want of a better word from watching some of the soaps. You've made me think more on the subject of your script and I will at least give your story a closer look to see what your getting at in the way of 'negativity' since on it's initial receptance appeared to be on par with what the writers of DAYS and others put out ,Nay I would say at least marginally better. I don't patronise and believe that being truthful about these things is the only way. Surely no one is going to reply to your efforts if they are not interested in the 1st place. Please don't give up the ghost on this one there's a lot of duds out there that are prob. mulling around and willing to borrow on your shall we say, expertise. Aussie.

Hi Daysfan, well I said that I'd get back about your comments about Life in Lanton. Firstly ,Negativity, Constructive criticism, one and the same dependant on who is making the appraisel. I suggested previously that your plot appeared to be o.K. and in line witha true 'SOAP'. well I've dicussed 'What is a Soap?' with a couple of my 'just as in the dark as me',friends and our side of it (Australian)goes back to the older English productions such as 'BREAD' ,the format being a working class London council- house dwelling family complete with Mum,dad, couple of sons with their mates,a daughter with the inevitable boy friend and jealous rival and not much more. The story centered around mainly their individual and collective lives and included the usual sorrows ,breakups, accented with their various different characters and expectations in life and was touched even with what is normal with people, a certain amount of humour thrown in to the Mix. This had an International audience of zillions for years. By contrast with the typical American Soaps that rarely portray humour except for generally, middle aged couples who should know better, behaving badly along with a Ying and Yang storyline ,I mean ,everything has an opposite, a doctor,her patient, the policeman,his fugitive,the rich business magnate and his generally insubordinate underlings, murder, deceit , an endless array of lovesick men and women so interelated that no one knows just who is sleeping with who and whose Son for instance will turn out to be your stepfather two days further down the track. In general any subject thrown in to keep the thing hopefully from bogging down,the main theme is that what is played out by one group today will be played out in similar fashion by just about every seperate group in the Company.
Your first episode of course is mainly establishing characters and it will be a while before you have to resort to the mundane activity of older Soaps. The good thing about any new production is the seeing of a different lot of people in new roles particularly if they haven't reached the status of 'Typecastrated' I refer to the Victor Newmans the Stephanie Forresters, John Blacks, Marlena the Beau and Hope, Samantha, RidgeForrester fiascos that are so out of their 'use by date' it's no longer funny. Like ::)how many times can one person be kidnapped, shot, peirced with a syringe,even killed,buried and returned to life, etc., I believe their biggest fans are mostly as I've found, in Geriatric wards.
What a breath of life came with the 'Jans' with their comicbook approach with plot and make-up. In summary I would say that you should look back into your 'casting dep't' for falling back on too many of the disappointing 'has-beens' ( You may think this Negative but I see it as Constructive if you want new blood as an audience ) So please include a family member something of a wag, a young not too nerdy type of Danny de Vito if you can come up with it for I feel the plots get to serious in most of the Soaps .
It's a big job you've tackled and the work seems to be immense for one person. Tell me, are the characters (like the two Heathers,Brandi Burkardt,etc.,) likely to appear in your production or are they merely something for the interestd viewer to base their imagination upon. Hail thee wonderous scribe, and I do look forward to your success and good fortune. Aussie
